Mikaeel was beaten by his mother after he became ill following a family trip to Nandos.
He later died from his injuries and Adekoya attempted to cover up his murder by hiding his body 20 miles away from their Edinburgh home in Fife.
She then phoned police and reported the toddler as missing, claiming he had let himself out of the family home.
Adekoya’s estranged husband Zahid Saheed, 30, spoke to a UK newspaper about the tragic loss of his son.
He said, referring to Adekoya: "She's a demon. She should suffer every day.”
"She's not a monster - not even a monster or animal would kill their own child."

"But I don't want her to rot in hell, I want her to live for eternity so she can remember what she has done and live with the guilt.”
"I hope she does not take the easy way out. She should suffer every day. She should stay in jail until she dies.”
"No parent should ever go through what I went through. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy."
Adekoya admitted to killing her son after police questioned her over Mikaeel’s disappearance.
She reportedly broke down, telling detectives: "It was an accident and I panicked."
Adekoya’s trial continues and she is currently being held at Cornton Vale prison in Scotland.
