When law student Jessica Rodriguez decided to propose to her girlfriend of four years, Chelsea Miller, she wanted to make sure everything was perfect.
From the location - The Art Institute of Chicago, to reflect their love of art - to arranging for her brother Carlos to be there to secretly capture the whole thing on camera, and even the dress she wore - which she picked as it allowed her to get down on one knee "and not flash everyone" - she put thought into every detail.
And yet, as is so often the case, the thing which really made the proposal special was totally unplanned.
Because what Jessica couldn’t anticipate was the wonderful joy-filled reaction of a woman who witnessed her proposal.
Posting the amazing photo on Twitter, Jessica’s brother Carlos wrote: "My sister proposed to her GF today and look at that older woman's reaction."
And the internet agreed. The image has now gone viral, with his tweet receiving over 100,000 retweets and 300,000 likes.
And it wasn’t long before the well-wishes started flooding in. One person tweeted: "Congrats on the engagement! The wedding day is going to be beyond amazing! My best wishes to you lovely gals"
While someone else joked: "God I envy the shoe closet in that household"
Even Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James got in on the action, tweeting: "Everything about this photo FTW. #LoveisLove Congratulations to your sister and her GF"
And now Jessica is on a mission to find the mystery lady so she can thank her herself: "I think someone knows the woman in our photo. If you do please give her our thanks! She made our photo much more special #FramingIt"
Meanwhile Chelsea, is still clearly stunned by the lengths that Jessica went to. Posting a picture of her finace on one knee on Instagram, she wrote: "THIS moment. This is a moment I will remember until we're old and covered in wrinkles watching our grandkids play.
"I'll show them this picture and tell them that when they find true love, they must hold on to it and cherish it with everything they have. I will love you forever.
"You make me the happiest, luckiest girl in the world."
