Reality star and fashion blogger Olivia Palermo shocked followers when she shared pictures from her intimate wedding ceremony, showing her celebrating her nuptials in a low-key fashion. So is this a backlash against the over-the-top celebrity wedding ceremonies trended by the likes if Kimye?
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding cost millions. From Kim’s custom made Givenchy Couture gown (reportedly in the region of £300,000) to the regal Florence venue (alleged to have cost £285,000) not to mention the cost of the pre-wedding celebrations in Paris, the wedding of the year appeared to be a no holds barred affair when it came to cost.
Experts say sleeping in the buff is the key to a happy marriage!
As average families struggle to make ends meet and the stress of organizing and paying for weddings becomes more openly discussed, is the idea if a BIG wedding on it’s way out?

Kim Kardashian’s weddings (lets not forget she’s walked down the aisle before, folks) have been the ultimate comment on decadence and wealthy extravagance. We all know that she earns A LOT of money- but is it ever really necessary to splash out so much money and make a show of one of the most private and personal days of your life?
Olivia Palermo married with family and just a handful of friends present. The wedding party travelled to the countryside where she exchanged vows with now-husband Johannes Huebl. Instead of wearing a princess-style wedding dress, Olivia wore a pair of shorts, a sweater and a lace train deisgned especially for her by Carolina Herrera.

Olivia is from a wealthy family and there is no doubt that she would have been able to afford a massive blow out a la Kim and Kanye. Instead, she chose to have an understated do.
The fashionista is a trend setter, and during these troubled economic times perhaps we can see more understated glamour and less pomp and bravado like the insanely huge Kimye Wedding which took over the world earlier this year.
