Those viewing the trial on televisions and online streams were left on tenterhooks when the judge of the Oscar Pistorius trial adjourned the verdict for the day, telling the court that they would continue tomorrow morning.
Katie Hopkins then took to her Twitter page, comparing the end of the first day of the verdict to a dramatic ending on Eastenders.
She wrote: "Just heard the Eastenders theme tune coming from Oscar Pistorius trial. Keeping the punters hanging"
Katie was quickly on the receiving end of a backlash, with one follower writing: "What gives you license to make jokes?"

Another tweeted: "A woman is dead, you witch.”
Katie simply responded: "Yes, a woman is dead. But celebrity seems to have dazzled justice, yet again.”
The 39-year-old’s comments came after Pistorius was cleared of murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day last year.
The court will hear tomorrow if the athlete has been found guilty of culpable homicide, or if he will walk free.
During today’s session, Judge Masipa said the 27-year-old had "acted too hastily", "used excessive force", and his "conduct was negligent".
