When's the cheapest time to fly to Las Vegas?
Lisa Tyndall, Senior Growth Manager at Skyscanner, tells Closer, “One of the most frequently asked questions we hear is “When’s the best time to book flights?” The best time to book a flight very much depends on where you are flying out from. The best way to find the cheapest time to travel to a destination is to use Skyscanner’s cheapest month travel tool.
"While we can’t predict the factors that may impact flight prices in 2019, looking at our historical flight price data, for travellers flying out from London to Las Vegas the best time to book flights would be 21 weeks in advance, saving 13% on average flight prices.
"However, those travelling from Glasgow should look to book between 23-24 weeks in advance saving 12%. It really does pay to do some research before you buy, setting up price alerts can also help you keep track of flight prices.”
So if you book flights now for a getaway in June, you can nab a return for under £500!
What's the best budget accommodation in Las Vegas?
Vegas is home to a whole host of affordable hotels. The Luxor is one of the most recognisable hotel and casinos thanks to its 30-story pyramid design. A room sleeping four can cost an average of $82 (£63) per night. Excalibur, New York-New York and Flamingo also offer affordable deals.
Avoid visiting during holidays and large-scale events such as a UFC fight or NASCAR weekend as prices tend to be much higher during these times. For those who can afford to visit during the week, weekday prices tend to be much lower if you stay anytime from Sunday through Thursday. And if you don’t mind taking an Uber or Lyft occasionally, off-the-Strip hotels can be a less expensive option as well
Airbnb also have loads of amazing listings for Vegas, including a guest house sleeping ninejust five minutes from the strip- for just £91 a night.
Fancy your own pool? They also have a eight-bed home with a solar heated pool and its own waterfall for just £65 a night. Bargain!
What's the best budget dining in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas has plenty of buffets that cost under $30 (£23), especially for breakfast. A few options to check out are Bayside at Mandalay Bay, The Buffet at Excalibur and Garden Court Buffet at Main Street Station.
One of the best ways to take advantage of cheaper meals is to dine at restaurants during their happy hours. Plenty of small dishes are on offer from $3 to $10.
El Segundo Sol inside the Fashion Show mall holds happy hour every day from 4-7 p.m. and has discounted tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. Hussong’s Cantina at Mandalay Bay offers $3 tacos, Monday−Thursday from 3 p.m. The Barrymore inside the Royal Resort offers grilled octopus and oysters Rockefeller for $9 daily from 5-7 p.m. along with other various good eats
