In the run up to Mother's Day, most people are probably panicking over what to get their mum as a present as they run out of time.

But it turns out that what she would probably like most is just to hear three little words from her offspring: "I love you."

According to a study undertaken on behalf of Pizza Express ahead of Mother's Day this Sunday, most British adults will tell their mums on average that they love her around 12 times a month.

Mums will be told that they're loved five times a month in person, three times over text, twice via WhatsApp and twice on social media or on a greetings card.

Unsurprisingly, young adults and millennials are most likely to share the loving words through technology, as 37% of 18-34 year olds will use WhatsApp to say "I love you" and 29% will use their favourite social media sites.

BUT. A shocking 15% of people admitted that they NEVER tell their mum they love her.

How DARE YOU.

That woman brought you into this WORLD, you ungrateful swines.

Sorry everyone, we got a bit carried away there.

Six in 10 people reckon they don't tell their mum they love her enough and admitted that they should say it more often, and women feel the guilt more than men.

Of the 2,000 Brits polled, 51% of women thought they should say the three little words more often to their mother, while only 41% of men felt the same.

Another 58% of people said that they definitely take their mum for granted.

AND over a quarter of people said that they were most ungrateful for their mums between the ages of 13-16.

Sort your act out, people!
