ITV have confirmed that presenters Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond will replace Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford as hosts on the Friday segment of This Morning.
The news comes just weeks after rumours began circulating that Eamonn and Ruth had been "axed" as presenters from the popular ITV show. Now, the TV channel have confirmed that the pair will no longer present their weekly segment, but that they will return for "key holidays."

Speaking out for the first time since the rumour first began earlier this month, Ruth wrote on Instagram, "It’s a changing of the guard on Fridays from January.
"We hope you make Alison and Dermot as welcome as you’ve made us over the years. Have a ball you two!
"It’s not goodbye from us, it’s simply Au Revoir until the next half term."
Lots of her followers rushed to comfort her with one person writing, "This Morning has just lost a heck of a lot of viewers until the half term😭❤️".
Another said, "I’m absolutely gutted! I only ever watch when you two are on and really make so many peoples week, very much including me 😭 I hope we see more of you both on other things xx".
One more added, "Switching off on Fridays until half term! Love you and Eamonn! 💔".
The X Factor host Dermot and Big-Brother star Alison will step into Eamonn and Ruth's shoes as of January 2021, joining co-stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
When asked about the new role, Dermot said that he was "thrilled."
"We have huge shoes to fill and we are well aware what a privilege it is to be stepping into them," he said.
He continued, "Above all, we want to have fun and for you to be able to kick your weekend off with a smile, especially given the year we've all had.
"So I'm delighted to be co-hosting with the living embodiment of sunshine on a rainy day. I can't wait to get started."

Emma Gormley, managing director at ITV Daytime, mimicked Dermot's sentiments and said that they are "delighted" to have him and Alison joining the main presenting team.
She said, "Alison has provided some of the most memorable moments on the show in recent times and teamed up with the brilliant Dermot we think they are a great pairing in addition to our fabulous presenting line up of Phillip and Holly and Eamonn & Ruth."
This news comes just as ITV's Andrea McLean, by contrast, announced that she is quitting popular panel show Loose Women.
Andrea has been on the panel for 13 years alongside co-stars Linda Robson and Brenda Edwards, and, live on air, told viewers that, "I’m going to be leaving Loose Women because I want to be brave... all the incredible feedback that I had from my book and the support I was able to give them, I want to bring it to life.
"It was a really, really big decision to jump and see if I fall or if I fly. And I just thought, I will never know unless I try, so I am saying goodbye to Loose Women."
