It's been over TEN YEARS since the show aired

We're not going to lie we definitely miss watching The Inbetweeners on E4 in the evenings.

Remember Will McKenzie being the most judgmental out of the bunch of boys, constantly being intimidated by Mr Gilbert and of course, everyone wanting to have sex with his mum?

Then we had Simon Cooper who (omg) was obsessed with Carli D'Amato, had that ugly yellow car (tbh, at least he had his own car) and wouldn't stop shouting at the rest of his family.

We'll never get over Neil Sutherland punching that fish to death (we do love animals however that scene was hilariously random), his outrageous dance moves or his stunning sister.

And then there's Jay Cartwright. Oh Jay. Save the best until last right? He constantly lied about all the girls he got with, he jumped up and down on a car in temper after the rest of the boys teased him about his "football fwend" and he wouldn't stop lying about absolutely everything.

Remember when he told the boys he punched a cow after it charged at him? We're still obsessed.

Anyways, the show first aired on our screens way back in 2008 and after three successful series, they went on to have two movies and that infamous reunion show.

But what happened after that? Read on to find out...

Where are the cast of The Inbetweeners now?

Simon played geeky Will McKenzie and made us crack up laughing every time he was on our TV screens. We'll never forget the episode where the boys got drunk and Will ended up screaming at Neil's dad or when he "thought it was a fart" and ended up pooing himself in the exam and of course his non existent relationship with Charlotte.

After saying goodbye to his role on The Inbetweeners, Simon became the creator of BBC Three comedy panel show The King Is Dead, he appeared in Channel 4's show Chickens, in The Philanthropist on the West End and Friday Night Dinner. He is also married to Lisa Owens and the pair have two children together.

James Buckley aka Jay

James' character Jay Cartwright was the ultimate liar. He lied about quite literally everything and everyone (minus Neil) managed to see straight through him. Oh and remember when he masturbated over that picture of a woman in a bathing suit from the 40s… in a care home? Or when he drove a motorbike into the shop window? Or his well know phrase bus w*nkers? Ahh memories.

Outside of The Inbetweeners James appeared on The Bill, Holby City and Skins. He has since been on Zapped, White Gold and in 2020 he's set to appear on Doctor Who. James married his Scottish wife Clair Meek in 2012 and the pair are parents to their two sons Harrison and Jude.

He played Simon and spent all three seasons like a lost puppy dog and totally in love with Carli D'Amato. Bless him. Other than his on-off relationship with Carli, lets never forget his bright yellow car, when his testicle was hanging out while he walked down the school catwalk and when he vomited over Carli's little brother.

Joe was actually friends with Simon Bird (who played Will) before they starred in the E4 show together – they first met at university. They've since co-written Chickens, which was a proposed series of the Comedy Showcase. He's also starred in Fresh Meat, Threesome and White Gold, alongside James (who played Jay). Joe is currently engaged to his former co-star Hannah Tointon, who played Tara Brown.

When we think of Neil we instantly think of how sweet he was. He nearly never understood what anyone was talking about and believed everything Jay said – which speaks volumes. Remember when he punched that fish on the boat? His strange dance moves? And when he wet the bed while he was sleeping next to Will? Bless him.

Nowadays you can see Neil starring in the theatre show Waitress. He's also previously been on The Bill, The Increasingly Poor Decision of Todd Margaret and he's the voice of Scoop in Bob the Builder. Blake is also married to Kerry Ann Lynch and they're parents to two children.

She was friends with Simon since they were eight and they had an on/off relationship throughout all three series. We often saw her lead Simon on, she was furious when he "ruined" her catwalk and her poor little brother was terrified after Simon was sick on him and Will told him about bombs.

Since her time on The Inbetweeners, Emily has featured in series TV shows but you'll most probably remember her as Rebecca White in Emmerdale.

Charlotte 'Big Jugs' was the 'It girl' at school but actually liked Will and almost had sex with him. She kind of led Will on and left him heartbroken in season three when she told him she wanted a boyfriend like him but not him. Brutal.

Despite being a recurring character, Emily didn't appear in either of the Inbetweeners movies or the reunion. She was apparently meant to star on The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited but The Sun reported that producers called her the night before and said "James [who played Jay] has asked she be taken off the show". The pair reportedly kissed while they filmed the TV series way back when and James apparently didn't want there to be a problem with his wife. Emily has also appeared on Dancing on Ice, I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and she hosted This Morning alongside John Barrowman.

Greg Davies aka Mr Gilbert

We're still not quite sure how Mr Gilbert became headteacher of a school – when he hated all the students. He loved to tease Will and remember when he didn't let him go to the toilet during the exam which resulted in him pooing himself? Poor guy.

Following his time on The Inbetweeners, Greg has appeared on several TV shows including Cuckoo, Man Down and Taskmaster. You can also watch his stand-up show on Netflix Greg Davies: You Magnificent Beast.

In season three Simon only went a got a girlfriend and no, it wasn't Carli. He dated Tara and during their relationship they got high at a concert that resulted in her throwing up everywhere and Simon started punching his penis when he couldn't get it up – poor Tara didn't know what to do.

Hannah has since appeared in a variety of different TV show and movies including Switch, The Hour, Midsomer Murder and The Festival. Before The Inbetweeners she was well known as Katy Fox in Hollyoaks. Fun fact – she's engaged to former co-star Joe (aka Simon).

In 2018, The Inbetweeners cast celebrated the shows 10th anniversary during a two hour one-off special The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited.

Unfortunately it didn't go down well with some fans and James Buckley - who played Jay - took to social media to apologise.

He wrote: "Feeling pretty hated right now. Im sorry to anyone who feels let down with last nights show.

"I'm especially upset as it really is the fans that made the inbetweeners a success, it certainly wasn't me. I might do an explanation video on my YT, or might just leave it & move on #sorry".

Bless him.
