Tanya Bardsley is by far the longest running cast member on Real Housewives of Cheshire, having starred on all 14 series since its inception in 2015.

But tongues have been a’waggin’ about her potentially quitting the show after she collapsed earlier this year from exhaustion and anxiety.

Speaking of her health issues behind the scenes, a source close to the star said, "Tanya has been on Real Housewives since it first aired, but she’s made up her mind to leave. She’ll finish the current series and appear in the reunion show but nothing more than that.

Axed Real Housewives of Cheshire cast - where are they now?

"Tanya has been really struggling with her anxiety recently, it got bad over lockdown and she just really wants to concentrate on herself.

"Her recent collapse really scared her and she knows she can’t continue juggling so many plates.

"She loves the show but it is really stressful at times and it just feels like the right time for her to walk away," they told The Sun.

Back in August Tanya opened up on Instagram about suffering a terrifying collapse on a photoshoot set and had to be rushed to hospital.

"The @myglamstyleuk photoshoot I will never forget 🙉 one minute in the studio the next minute in an ambulance," she wrote. "I collapsed from stress from over working and basically trying to be perfect in every area of my life, mum, wife, business woman, carer for poorly relatives my brain and body shut down as a warning.

"I’m having a few days off my phone so sorry to anyone if I don’t reply to messages and emails, @phil_bardsley is forcing me to rest 🙉."

Just one month earlier, she had spoken exclusively to Closer about the anxiety she suffers, as well as her ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) diagnosis at aged 39.

She said, "There have been loads of times when I haven’t felt able to carry on, and only the fact that I’ve got four children and a lovely husband has stopped me."

"When you have ADHD it’s like having 17 TVs on in your head. You can’t focus and there’s a lot of noise in your head. You feel like you’re being smothered, overwhelmed, like you’re drowning in life.

"There’s an inner restlessness, like something bad is going to happen, so I’m biting my fingernails all the time. It’s a nervous energy. One-in-four women [with ADHD] tries to commit suicide. It’s so common and often undiagnosed," Tanya added.

She’s also a busy mum of four, runs a fitness Instagram account and co-owns a boutique and clothing brand, My Glam Style.

No wonder she’s feeling exhausted.

Tanya is the longest serving Housewife in Cheshire after Dawn Ward – who had also appeared on the show since the very first episode – revealed she was quitting in 2020.

She said on social media, "Having been on the real housewives of Cheshire for almost 7 years & 12 seasons, I’ve had the most incredible journey, not just me, but my whole family. It really has been amazing for us.

"Season 12 has now come to an end and filming has finished. It’s been difficult this season with the pandemic but the cast and our amazing production team have pulled it off again, it’s been fun!

"Everyone who knows me knows I’m all about my family, so I’ve decided that after 12 seasons on the show I would like to concentrate on projects with them."
