While some shows have been cancelled or postponed BBC bosses are still giving Strictly Come Dancing 2020 the go-ahead.

In a statement the BBC explained, "The Strictly Come Dancing team are doing everything they can to bring the nation plenty of Strictly magic later this year.

"To ensure we deliver the high standards audiences know and love, and in light of the ongoing considerations around COVID-19, this year’s series of Strictly will have a slightly shorter run than usual.

"The safety of our cast and crew is of the utmost importance to us and further updates will be made in due course."

This year has been strange enough so we are absolutely ready for BBC One’s glitziest show to take over our entire autumn.

One of the rumoured celebs who have apparently 'ruled out' appearing on the show is Michelle Keegan.

A source has said, “Michelle loves Strictly and enjoyed supporting Mark when he competed in 2014 but the show is just not on her radar right now.

“There are so many more pressing things in the pipeline that she’s more passionate about, like big dramas.

“She’ll always be Strictly’s number one fan, but as for competing, it’s just not going to happen. Michelle wants to be known as an actor,” they told The Sun.

When does Strictly Come Dancing 2020 start?

Since April (when we were in peak lockdown) Strictly bosses have said that the show will go ahead (obsessed with the confidence tbh) and it seems they were right.

However following all the events that's happened this year the dance show will apparently return at a slightly later time than usual and will reportedly air in October.
