Strictly Come Dancing 2020 feels like a different time.

Nine weeks instead of the usual 13, no live performance from Blackpool Tower for the first time in the show’s history and Bill Bailey (who won the series) offering us an iconic routine to The Sugahill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight.

Two years on from the strange days of COVID-19 Strictly Come Dancing, the celebrities are thriving. Here's what the Strictly 2020 stars are doing now...

Bill Bailey

The icon that is Bill Bailey was the oldest contestant to win the series. Since lifting the glitterball trophy, he has gone on to take part in Kathy Burke’s documentary Growing Up and presented a music and stand-up show at the Royal Opera House for the BBC called Bill Bailey: Larks in Transit. The comedian took his stand-up tour around the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Ranvir Singh

During her time on Strictly, Ranvir was partnered with pro Giovanni Pernice. Once the show finished, Ranvir replaced Lorraine Kelly on her morning show for a few days during Christmas for the presenter to have a break. Ranvir has now started presenting a new ITV daytime game show called Ridiculous.

Max George

The Wanted singer competed with Dianne Buswell and was eliminated on week four. Max may not have won Strictly but he found love on the show with fellow celeb contestant Maisie Smith. As of 2023, Max will be starring in the celebrity-filled reality show Scared of the Dark alongside Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt and Love Island's Chloe Burrows.

Maisie Smith

After meeting her new beau on the dancing competition and showing off her amazing dancing skills, Maisie left EastEnders (again.) She recently starred in the UK stage production of Baz Lurhmann’s Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.

Jamie Laing

The former Made in Chelseastar danced with professional Karen Hauer when he took part in Strictly. After he was voted off, Jamie covered the BBC Radio 1 afternoon slot while Mollie King was on mat leave. He is now focusing on his two podcasts; Newlyweds and Private Parts podcast.

Clara Amfo

The radio presenter was fifth to be eliminated from the show and since then she has begun hosting the Future Sounds show on Radio 1. Clara was also honoured by Mattel in 2021 with her very own Barbie doll and starred as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Clara also dipped her toe in the world of dating shows when she hosted the Disney+ program Written in the Stars.

HRVY

During his time on the show, HRVY broke a few Strictly records with his dancing partner Janette Manara. Not only were they the first to score a 10 from any judge for a Salsa, but they also finished at the top of the leader board on three occasions. Not to mention the fact that other than winner Bill Bailey, Janette and HRVY were the only other couple to NEVER have been in the dance off. Since appearing on the series, HRVY commentated Junior Eurovision and has been focusing on his music. The Strictly finalist has also released a few singles, supported The Wanted on their Greatest Hits tour, and performed at the NTAs.

JJ Chalmers

The Paralympian, who danced with Amy Dowden, was voted off in the quarterfinals of the competition. As well as his sporting career, JJ has dabbled in the world of presenting. In 2021, he hosted Money for Nothing on the BBC and a year later presented at the funeral of Prince Philip. JJ was also a host during the summer Olympics last year and as a former marine, was the perfect choice to work on a documentary about the evacuation at Dunkirk.

Jacqui Smith

Jacqui was the first contestant to be voted off from the series after dancing the Foxtrot with her partner, Anton Du Beke. The former politician was appointed chair of two of NHS Trusts in 2021 but recently found herself in hot water when she told TalkTV journalist Isabel Oakeshott to “shut up” during a discussion about Brexit. Jacqui has since apologised for her language and took to Twitter where she admitted that she was “wrong”.

Jason Bell

After competing alongside Luba Mushtuk on the show, Jason has since carried on with his presenting career as an NFL pundit in the UK. Earlier this year it was announced that ITV had scored a deal for NFL coverage to move from the BBC to ITV. Jason will remain as the presenter and expressed his excitement for the move, “I can’t believe the growth of the NFL, not only in the UK but globally, and I’m so grateful to be at the forefront of that. I can’t wait to expand the NFL audience with the new team at ITV.”

Nicola Adams

Nicola made history on Strictly when she partnered with Katya Jones and they became the show's first same-sex couple. However, the pair sadly had to withdraw from the competition after Katya tested positive for COVID-19. Although she retired from boxing in 2019, Nicola has continued to support sports in all she does. Recently, it was announced that she would back a new campaign, ‘This Girl Can With You,' the initiative focuses on females becoming more involved with and enjoying sports.

Caroline Quentin

Caroline was partnered with Johannes Radebe and was eliminated fourth. Since leaving the show, she starred in the Royal National Theatre’s production Jack Absolute Flies Away and is set to take to the stage again opposite her real-life daughter in Mrs. Warren’s Profession.
