Just days after announcing her departure from Loose Women after five years, Saira Khan has called on her fellow panellists to follow suit.

The mum of two quit the show on the weekend, saying she wanted to "focus on what’s important" and "asses her priorities" in her personal life – but later called for ITV to replace her with "either a gay, transgender or non-binary person".

“That will help the show to be more reflective of the world we live in,” she said. "That’s what I would do if I was in charge."

And now she’s admitted that she thinks it’s a move more of her former colleagues should be taking, after main anchor Andrea McLean also stepped down recently.
