Daytime telly fans have taken to Twitter to talk about the “awkward” moment Ruth Langsford ignored her rumoured replacement, Alison Hammond, on live TV.
It’s recently been reported that Ruth and her husband Eamonn are to be dropped from their regular slot hosting This Morning on Fridays, with an ITV diversity drive bringing in Alison and Dermot O'Leary instead.
While bosses are yet to confirm the claims, viewers couldn’t help but feel Ruth made her feelings known when she “ignored” Alison while speaking from the Loose Women studio on yesterday’s show.
Alison had stepped in toreplace Holly on Wednesday’s episode and was hosting alongside Philip Schofield, but Ruth seemed to avoid ever directly speaking to her when she appeared t discuss what was coming up later.

Earlier this week a recent interview Ruth gave to The Mirror resurfaced where she appeared to make a dig at her colleague Alison, who first rose to fame after starring on Big Brother in 2002.
“We didn't do a reality show and get an overnight job on the telly. We've come up through the ranks,” she told Notebook magazine.
“Eamonn was only 19 when he started out. And he was doing the teatime news in Belfast during The Troubles. It was heavy stuff. And he's now got an OBE for services to broadcasting.”
