Millie Court speaks out on Liam Reardon’s ‘not nice’ Celebs Go Dating appearance

Love Island 2021 winners Millie and Liam split a year after they won the show and while they've both insisted their break-up was amicable, it presumably wasn't the greatest for Millie when Liam signed up to appear on Celebs Go Dating just weeks later.

Liam Reardon joined the Celebrity Dating Agency as a late arrival and sought advice from relationship experts Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson before being sent out on his first date with trainee pilot Niamh.

Speaking about her ex appearing on Celebs Go Dating in a YouTube video, Millie revealed that Liam did run it by her before signing up for the show and admitted that while it "isn't nice" to see him moving on, she didn't want to "hold back" her ex.

Addressing the situation while answering questions from her followers during a YouTube Q&A, Millie said, "I haven't actually watched it since it started, but I don't think Liam's on it yet because he came later. Everyone's talking about it, 'Did I give him permission? Did I know about it? What did I feel about it?' and yeah, Liam did speak to me. He did kind of ask my permission.

"I don't know whether ask for permission is the right word, he just wanted to talk to me about it, see how I felt about it, and I think he would have been respectful enough if I said, 'I really don't want you to do this,' he probably wouldn't, but I also didn't want to hold him back because we weren't together."

She added, "I don't want to hold him back. We weren't together, we had an amazing year together and it's not nice to see it, but I also didn't want to be the person to stop him experiencing things and being on TV again. It is what it is so I suck it up and I say, 'yeah, go for it.'"

As for whether she'll be watching the show, Millie said, "I don't know whether or not I'll be watching it. I'm pretty sure I will probably get videos sent to me on Instagram. It will probably be in the press what happens and most likely, people will be forwarding them on to me.

"It's something I'm not actually going to be able to avoid, even if I don't watch it. Do I just save all of the potential hurt in case I see something I don't like, which I probably will, because who wants to see their ex dating someone new? That's just quite normal to feel like that.

"Do I just watch it and have my own perception on it before it comes out in the press and make their own stories? Maybe I will or maybe I won't."
