Three years since the show first aired in Australia – and a month since our latest TV obsession came to an end – things have changed for the stars of Married At First Sight

She didn’t find love on Married At First Sight Australia, but Ning Surasiang is head over heels with the latest member of her family – her granddaughter, Freya.

The glamorous gran recently posted a cute photo of herself holding her seven-week-old granddaughter. She lovingly captioned the post, “Just look at you” with a love heart emoji.

The reality star became a grandmother aged 35 when her 17-year-old daughter, Kia, who Ning had at 16, gave birth in February. Ning also has Kobi, nine, and Kai, six.

Eagle-eyed fans have commented on mum-of-three Ning’s youthful looks, saying that she looks better than ever, with one saying, “You look great and could be mistaken for a teenager not a grandma!” Another commented, “Wow you look even younger than when you were on the show!”

Ning has said that becoming happier in her own skin has contributed to her feeling and looking better. A healthy, balanced diet is also a factor and Ning says she’s had a better relationship with food in recent years, admitting she used to be “too thin” on the show as she secretly battled her demons.

Recently posting a throwback image of herself from four years ago, Ning told her Instagram followers that she was both the thinnest and unhappiest when the photo was taken.

She wrote, “Flashback to how I used be four years ago. People say I’m thin now, but this was me fighting with my past. No one deserves to feel unworthy, unwanted or unloved. I used to think I was a broken piece that didn’t fit in the puzzle, I realised I was just a different piece of my own jigsaw.”

And, despite arguing about going to the gym with her former husband, personal trainer Mark Scrivens, on the show, Ning says she has “learned to fall in love” with working out and keeping fit.

The former hairdresser is also religious about her skincare routine and swears by all-natural Australian skincare brand Presh Skin, while she uses extensions and hair colour to “cover [her] greys.”

But Cosmetic Practitioner Amar Suchde, of AMS Aesthetics, believes she may have had a few tweaks to help her shock transformation.

Amar says, “I believe Ning’s new look is mostly down to filler. It looks like she has had Botox in her forehead to lift up her eyebrows, plus filler in the lower half of her face to slim down and soften her jawline.

“Ning already had voluptuous cheeks, but she may have had some filler injected to contour them, plus under her eye to make a more refreshed look. It looks really good – it’s incredible to think she’s a grandmother!”

Lauren Huntriss and Matthew Bennett

One of the biggest storylines this season was about Matthew and his virginity, as he was repeatedly labelled as 'virgin'/'ex-virgin' Matt by the narrator. Anyway, Matthew was matched with Lauren - who, yes, he lost his virginity to - but it all went horribly wrong when Lauren heard Matthew telling the other guys at dinner that he wasn't sexually attracted to Lauren. AWKWARD. Lauren is still a make-up artist, we don't know if she's dating anyone. But on the other hand, self-confessed fitness enthusiast Matthew is loved up with a new girlfriend - who he met at a wrestling tryout.

Mike Gunner and Heidi Latcham

Mike and Heidi's relationship was one which could have gone either way, but after the show, the pair split - announcing the sad news at the post-finale reunion special. 'Right after the final vows, Heidi and I went back to the Gold Coast together but it didn't take long and the wheels started coming off,' Mike explained. Heidi has said she hasn't spoken to her former husband since. From the looks of their Instagram pages, they still look single.

Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson

Oh, Cameron and Jules. From the minute Jules and Cam had their first wedding dance without any music, we had an inkling they were in it for the long haul. And we were right! The pair now have a baby together, who was born in October last year, and tied the knot properly after the show. So, yes - sometimes this wild experiment does work.

Melissa Lucarelli and Dino Hira

Probably the worst matched couple on the series, it isn't shock the pair called it quits on the show after Dino allegedly recorded a conversation Melissa was having with her sister about the wedding day. It appears both are still single.

Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli

Martha and Michael were an extremely drama free pair (in comparison to everyone else) so it's no shock that they have actually managed to stay together. Yay!

Ning Surasiang and Mark Scrivens

Eek. Another very up and down pair, Ning and Mark's relationship dissolved during the final commitment ceremony - with Mark dumping Ning, much to her shock. Following the show, Mark moved on with another former reality star, Bianca Chatfield – who appeared on home renovation show The Block. And Ning also has a new partner.

Susie Bradley and Billy Vincent

Susie and Billy were one of the couples who married later in the experiment. From the get go, Susie kept on calling Billy awkward - even calling him a deeb at one point on their honeymoon. They split before the final commitment ceremony. Susie is now dating former rugby pro Todd Carney and they have a baby on the way. However, Billy appears to be single.

Ines Basic and Bronson Norrish

We knew this relationship wasn't going to last from the moment Ines asked Bronson to take out his eyebrow ring. Ines went on to have an affair with Sam, which Sam has since claimed was faked by producers, and it all came out during an explosive commitment ceremony. Bronson is now a lot happier with girlfriend Hayley Wallis. And from her Instagram, Ines looks to be single at the moment.

Jessika Power and Mick Gould

Major cracks started to show in Mick and Jessika's relationship, then Jessika went after one of the newly weds, Dan. Not a shock that Jessica and Mick didn't survive then…(Neither did her affair with Dan, btw.)

Jessika: ‘If you’ve got it, flaunt it – have some fun!’

Despite being one of the most controversial cast members after cheating on her husband Mick Gould with Dan Webb, Jessika Power is in high demand – proven last week when she shot her new bikini range with fashion brand PrettyLittleThing.

After being trolled for her bikini snaps online, Jessika, 30 – who is now in a relationship with aspiring rapper Filip Poznanovic – hit back, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it. Who cares. Have some fun! Stop, like, caring.”

Jessika has reportedly had £30k worth of cosmetic work, including dental veneers, Botox, cheek fillers, a fat transfer op to enhance her boobs, a brow lift and a “jaw slimming” procedure.

But the admin officer-turned influencer, 30, admits she is planning even more – including a Brazilian butt lift – and told Closer in February, “I can’t stop [having surgery] and I think I’m addicted. I haven’t changed how I look because of the public response and trolling, but it has made me more self-conscious.”

Despite UK viewers only seeing the show recently, it was shot and aired Down Under in 2018, and Jess says she has “grown” and learned from her mistakes on the show. She says, “It’s almost three years on now and I’m proud of the self-love, reflection and growth I’ve accomplished.”

Martha: ‘I don’t care about being pretty!’

With her olive complexion and dark hair – as well as her love of selfies – Martha Kalifatidis was branded Aussie’s version of Kim Kardashian.

But after telling Closer in February that the scrutiny she’d received from the show “crushed her confidence”, the 32-year-old insists she has now realised life is about more than looks.

Martha – who is still with fellow MAFS co-star Michael Brunelli, 29 – recently hit back at trolls after being inundated with negative comments after cutting her hair and dying it orange.

She wrote on Instagram, “Wow! who knew a haircut could cause so much commotion. Let’s make this really clear… I don’t give a f--k about being ‘pretty.’ That’s an outdated priority for women. I strive to be strong, independent, intelligent and driven. Keep your ‘pretty’ to yourself and I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.”

The former make-up artist recently told Closer she had been trolled excessively since being on the show, saying, “The show – and the fame and the trolls that came with it – crushed any sort of self-esteem I had. People think I’m this model, but I don’t. I’m a normal girl.”

She has admitted to having surgery prior to the show including a nose job, Botox and “a bit of filler” – but says “despite all that, I haven’t had surgery since the show aired.”
