Nothing says Christmas like the John Lewis Christmas advert- and this year's has finally arrived. The 2021 instalment of the department store's famous Christmas ad is all about experiencing Christmas for the first time - something many of us are really feeling after the disappointment of 2020.
This year’s advert tells the sweet tale of Nathan, who meets an unexpected guest, space traveller, Skye, after she lands in the woods close to his home.
Nathan begins to introduce her to some wonderful Christmas traditions, such as decorating the tree, watching Christmas films and eating mince pies. There's no cheese board, but we can forgive little Nathan - he's dealing with a lot.
As their friendship develops, we see the magic of Christmas through the eyes of someone experiencing it for the very first time, and it will definitely make you tear up.
Enjoy that? Us too. Weeps. Did you know that you can shop everything featured in the ad? From the table decor to the baubles and, of course, those super cute jumpers. They are flying off the shelves though, so you'd better be fast. John Lewis will be donating 10% of the profits for each jumper sold equally to FareShare and Home-Start UK.

This year’s soundtrack to the advert is performed by Lola Young, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from South London. The track, Together in Electric Dreams, originally released by Philip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder in 1984, will no doubt be topping the charts this year.
Loved last year's ad? Us too, here it is again in all its glory, because why not? It's Christmas, after all.
