Earlier this week Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford returned to hosting This Morning during the weekdays after they were infamously axed from their Fridays slot last year.
And although some viewers were glad to have the pair back on their screens, others were less than impressed after hearing a comment Eamonn made about his wife Ruth.
On the show they played their game It's Behind You where a caller has to describe who is on a screen behind Eamonn and Ruth, and they have to guess right in order for the caller to win money.
The caller saw a picture on the screen of Kate Middleton, who he began to describe as "Very thin and married to Prince William".

Things got awkward when Eamonn turned to Ruth to said, "Well it's not you, darling".
Although Ruth continued with the game, Eamonn went on to say, "They wouldn't say she's very thin and married to Eamonn Holmes would he? No... Wouldn't have done that."
And although Ruth didn't respond to Eamonn's comment and instead went on to speak to the caller, the TV host's remarks didn't go unnoticed by the viewers at home, as many took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on it.
"@thismorning not particularly great entertainment... Fat shaming your wife on TV Eamonn. #ThisMorning," wrote one viewer.
While another tweeted, "As if Eamonn Holmes just said to Ruth 'well it’s not you then' when the clue was 'she’s very thin'... how bloody rude!! 😡😡 #ThisMorning @thismorning".
One more added, "Not Eamonn calling Ruth fat on #ThisMorning! Rude b-stard!"

Eamonn and Ruth had presented This Morning's Friday episode for 15 years, but were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary in December 2020.
However, the pair have been told they are not completely axed from the show as they will still take over in the key holidays while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are away.
And despite viewers being divided about Alison and Dermot replacing Ruth and Eamonn, the show has seen an up in viewing figures since the Friday slot was taken over.
