Last week, Dancing On Ice viewers were rocked by the news that professional skater Ale Izquierdo had been rushed to hospital.

The dancer, who is paired with rugby hunk Max Evans, cracked her head on the ice after a lift in their routine while practising went wrong and it was touch and go over whether she would be able to perform.

But this week has been rocked by yet another injury as Corrie star Antony Cotton was ALSO rushed to hospital.

It was touch and go as to whether he'd be able to perform on Sunday - as he fractured TWO of his ribs.

Antony released a statement about the weekend: "On Wednesday, Brandee and I were training for this week's show when we lost our balance and both fell backwards onto the ice.

"Luckily, Brandee was uninjured but I was taken to hospital where I discovered I had fractured a couple of ribs, front and back. I'd like to thank the staff at Silver Blades ice rink in Widnes, the doctor and nurse at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, and Brandee, who never left my side throughout.

"But the show must go on and as such, we are going to do our best to continue in the Dancing on Ice competition this Sunday. Hopefully the painkillers and sequins will see us through."

However, he's since appeared on This Morning and revealed that he definitely WILL be performing on the show this weekend.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, he said: "It’s my choice. And I want to carry on. I’ve broken, front and back. It was a mishap, it was nobody’s fault. There were two of us in this tango."

The Corrie favourite explained what happened: "We basically fell backwards and Brandee landed on top of me and crushed me. I’ve never in all my career phoned in sick, never once. I’m not calling in sick!"

Poor Brandee was terrified, thinking she'd seriously hurt her partner: "I was so scared. I really thought I’d killed him because he couldn’t breath. He was just lying on the ice. He was telling me to get help but I didn’t want to leave him. We were training."

Antony added: "I knew it was bad. I physically couldn’t breath. It’s horrendous pain.

The selfless star then said: "Brandee’s come all the way from California. I’m not going without a fight, " revealing that doctors advised it was up to him whether he performed but that it's a four to six-week healing time.

He went on: "I want us to do well. So we’ve got straight back on. We are doing exactly the same routine. I’ve got no fear of the ice and of getting back on. I’m not frightened.

"We’ve rehearsed and we are ready to go! We want a real vote."

Wowza, fair play Antony!
