Dancing On Ice** stars have been left shocked and scared after one of the professional skaters was rushed to hospital**

One of the lures of Dancing On Ice is the fact that it is literally live and dangerous.

The slight terror of seeing a potential serious injury occur live on TV is, of course, thrilling as well as being ever so slightly scary.

This year's head judges Torvill and Dean agree too, and it's what they reckon gives the show an edge over competitors such as Strictly Come Dancing.

But when something does actually go wrong, it can be pretty horrifying - as Max Evans and his skating partner Ale Izquierdo have found out during rehearsals for tonight's show.

Pictures show the pair practising a particularly hairy lift, only for Ale to fall and crack her head on the ice.

OUCH.

Poor Ale looked like she was in a LOT of pain!

This happened yesterday while the pair were practising for tonight's show, but Ale was rushed to hospital after seriously hurting her head.

By 6.30pm yesterday, she was back home and resting - but has been given doctor's orders to rest for 24 hours, meaning that there's a chance she won't be able to perform with Max in tonight's episode of Dancing On Ice.

Nothing has been confirmed about Max's appearance on tonight's show - whether he'll be given a free pass to go straight through to next week's show, whether he'll perform with another professional skater or whether in fact Ale will still perform through her injury.
