We could never work out why Ella Rae Wise didn't make it through the great TOWIE cull that saw ten (ten!) cast mates get the chop.
Celia Theodorou we could understand. Harry Lee basically bored off. But...Ella? She was a one woman storyline goldmine, not least because of her 'flirty friendship' (with tongues - tongues!) with Essex Lothario Pete Wicks.
What Ella didn't know when she and Pete locked lips, what no-one knew, was that he had been involved in a years' long relationship with Chloe Sims that definitely crossed the line from friendship to romance.
Subsequently watching Pete and Chloe make up and break up and make up again was dramatic, it was heart-wrenching it was...a bit boring and repetitive by the end tbh.
And, when Ella and Pete's first round of snogging came to light, Chloe claimed she really wasn't bothered.
"In Pete’s defence, even though I hate him right now, he is a natural born flirt," she said.
"Even away from the show, regardless of where we go, he flirts with everyone, he flirts with men and women, older and younger."
But maybe's Chloe's finally decided to draw a line under her and Pete's will-they-won't-they-oh-they-did storyline when she dropped the absolute bombshell that she was quitting the show.
So, does this mean, Ella, who has returned to TOWIE and been doing the tongue dance with Pete again, got her way?
We couldn't possibly say.
But we could screenshot an Instagram Story Ella's pal Dani Imbert shared of her pal, captioned "having the last laugh".
