After TOWIE’s Pete Wicks opened up about falling out with his good friend Chloe Sims during lockdown, reports of why they clashed are coming to light, with sources claiming things “got messy” after the pair crossed the line into romance.

“After a string of failed relationships on the show, the last thing Chloe wanted was another guy letting her down publicly, but Pete was never clear about his intentions,” said the insider. “She felt slighted”.

Speaking about trying to patch things up after nine months of not talking, Pete said last week, “When I first saw her I didn't know if we were going to have a massive fight. It was a really bad fall out. I was honestly gutted.

"We have had a very intense friendship for years and we deal with things very differently. I am quite used to being on my own and dealing with things in my own way and Chloe finds that hard to understand."

Pete Wicks relationship history

He might be one of the most desirable men in tellyland but Pete's not got loads of proper relationships to his name (in fact, that makes sense). Instead he's got a string of romantic liaisons under his belt.

The rumours that Pete and Chloe got intimate after so many years of friendship will be surprise to many, with Pete having always insisted that he would never go there.

"Me and Chloe have been mates for so long it is one of those things I would never want to hurt or ruin our friendship,” he told The Sun last year.

"I have had a bad history with women and Chloe has been hurt before so there's no way either of us would risk what we have.

"I know a lot of people would like to see us together. I do love her to bits as a person and I would never not want her in my life but just as friends."
