New This Morning presenter Alison Hammond is reportedly undergoing duty of care talks with ITV after falling victim to vicious trolling online.
Alison was confirmed to be taking over the Friday morning slot alongside Dermot O’Leary in an ITV diversity drive, replacing Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes who fill in for regular hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on their day off.
But now sources claim Alison has faced online abuse, with ITV stepping in to perform their duty of care.
“Alison is a tough cookie, but the vitriol from some so-called fans of This Morning has been impossible for her to ignore,” they said.

Speaking to The Sun they continued, "Now Alison is determined to move on from the drama and prove to everyone why she deserved this job."
Despite rumours of a feud between the outgoing hosts and the new ones, Ruth and Eamonn had nothing but well wishes for Alison and Dermot in an official statement on Twitter.
“It's a changing of the guard on Fridays from January,” they said. “We hope you make Alison and Dermot as welcome as you’ve made us over the years. Have a Ball you two!
"It’s not Goodbye from us, it’s simply Au Revoir until the next half term."
