We’ve all been there on Christmas Day when you unwrap a present and have to put on your best fake smile and pretend you love the naff coffee table book you’ve just been gifted – and it turns out that even TOWIE stars aren’t immune to receiving rubbish pressies.
Essex icon James ‘Arg’ Argent recently revealed the worst gift he’s ever been given and it turns out he received it from his co-star ex-girlfriend, The GC herself, Gemma Collins.
Arg and Gemma had a turbulent nine-year romance after meeting while filming TOWIE, with plenty of highs and lows that played out in the public eye, but this is one that has been kept under wraps (no pun intended) up until now.
When asked what the worst Christmas present he ever received was in an interview with heat magazine, Arg coyly replied that it was “a little crude”.
He continued, “I think Gemma got me some… I’m actually not going to say it, sorry.”
But when pushed for an answer, the reality star revealed, “It’s just a little bit crude and it’s not my style. Put it this way, Gemma got me some intimate moisturiser once.
“It was literally a moisturiser, nothing sexy, but for a certain area. It was a funny joke-like Christmas present she got. You can imagine.”
Oh, trust us, Arg, our imaginations are running WILD. Who knew that moisturiser for your bits was a thing? Every day’s a school day and all that…
To be fair, Arg has been known to give a stinker of a gift as well. Remember Mr Darcy, the micro pig that Arg bought for his teenage sweetheart Lydia Bright? She once admitted that was the worst present she’d ever received. Mainly because it wasn’t micro at all.
Speaking about the ordeal, Arg said, “It was one of the worst gifts ever because it didn’t stay a micro pig. It ended up turning into a full pot-belly pig.
“I think it ruined Debbie [Lydia’s mum]’s garden, which she hasn’t really forgiven me for. I think I’ve still got an invoice I need to pay.”
Oh dear, Arg, maybe just stick to a box of choccies next time?
Arg is appearing on Celeb Cooking School, which starts 8 January at 8pm on E4.
