There’s been a few TOWIE and Love Island crossovers over the years, not least when Joey Essex entered the villa this summer, but one you might not know is that Love Island 2017’s Georgia Harrison actually first rose to fame on the Brentwood-based ITVBe show three years before she jetted off to Mallorca to find love.
Georgia appeared in just one series of TOWIE a decade ago when she was 19 years old, with her time on the show mainly centred around her love triangle with Lewis Bloor and Tom Pearce. Ah, those were the days.
Although it’s been 10 years since her last appearance, Georgia recently reunited with former TOWIE co-stars Bobby Norris and Pete Wicks on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. We caught up with her after she won the Channel 4 show and, of course, we had to ask her what it was like to be back together with Bobby and Pete.
Georgia exclusively told Closer, ‘Oh my God, it was so funny. There were certain times where we'd all look at each other and we'd be in the back of an army van or something and we'd be like, ‘F**k, how have we ended up from Sugar Hut to this?’
‘If you'd have gone back a few years and told us all we'd all be sitting in an ice cube in the middle of the New Zealand terrain, we just never would have believed you. It was just so funny, but it was also really nice because it was people that I started my reality TV journey with literally 10 years ago and we were all there doing one of the biggest challenges we've all had to face together.’
So, can expect Georgia to return to TOWIE one day? Well, let’s just say we won’t be holding our breath.
‘I just don’t think it would be right for me at this stage. I wouldn’t really make sense being on there, but I am a massive, massive TOWIE fan at the moment,’ she explained.
‘I’m absolutely hooked on it. The second SAS goes off, TOWIE is on right now. It is my guilty pleasure, but I don’t think me going back at this stage in my career would really make sense.’
Georgia previously revealed that TOWIE bosses axed her from the show for being a ‘nightmare’ and ‘always drinking on set’.
‘They had to actually cut a couple of my scenes because literally, I was so drunk you couldn’t even understand me,’ she said in a TikTok video.
‘Once I got called into the office for getting drunk midday at Thorpe Park. It might have been a bit before midday, but I was just young and nervous. It is what it is.’
