With the next series of Strictly Come Dancingset to begin 16 September, we’ve got just enough time to familiarise ourselves with this year’s contestants and place our bets. One of the next Strictly hopefuls is comedian and actor, Eddie Kadi.
Ahead of the show, Fleur East and James Barr caught up with Eddie Kadi on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show to ask him about how he plans to take on celebrities like Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas and Bobby Brazier. It turns out he has an interesting tactic up his sleeve.
He explained, "I love dancing, right? And as a Congolese, we dance (at) every opportunity we get. But then you realise you're not really dancing, you’re just wiggling your bum. And I’ve got these illegal hips – they just don’t listen to anybody! But I’m looking forward to learning.”
Speaking to Closer earlier this month, Eddie said, "Everyone’s talking about snaky hips, you know what, bring it on. And the truth is, if I don’t move my hips, the Congolese community aren’t going to be happy. They’ll go ‘you need to move your hips at least once!’"

After all, who can forget EastEnders star Jake Wood and his iconic snake hips? He shaked that butt, sorry hips, all the way to the semi-final. Maybe Edie will go one better.
