Did YOU notice this adult movie reference in The Grinch?!

The Grinch may have been made for children, but it has been hiding a VERY raunchy secret for years…

We love Christmas films; they’re full of festive cheer, and fun, and warm fuzzy emotional messages to see us through the happiest time of the year.

But, in the case of Jim Carrey’s The Grinch, at least, they also have a few sneaky surprises hidden beneath the surface.

The 2000 film shows the green critter being delivered to Whoville ‘by mistake’, floating down from the skies in a basket-and-pumbersella contraption.

He lands gently on the windowsill of his soon-to-be adoptive mothers… and the grass-green bubba soon finds himself staring into their home at their raucous annual Christmas party.

All very sweet, as we’re sure you’ll agree - except for one tiny detail.

Did you spot it?

Yup, that was a bowl of car keys in the middle of that little get-together.

So this wasn’t just any old Christmas party.

It was a SWINGERS party.

No wonder the Baby Grinch looks so disturbed by his adoptive parents’ antics, eh?

And no wonder he was waiting outside on his own for so long - those Whos were clearly far too busy to come and fetch their bubba inside.

This little extra detail also explains why the Grinch was so opposed to the Whos of Whoville all his life (he'd watched them cavort in the warmth while he shivered outside)… and it might also go some way towards revealing why his arrival was such a surprise to his two mums.

After all, we assume they weren’t seeking to make a baby on their night of fun - maybe they forgot to use Who-approved protection, eh?
