Martin Compston, Line of Duty

If, like us, you enjoyed lusting over actor Martin Compston in BBC's Line Of Duty, you'll be thrilled to hear he's landed a guest role in ITV’s royal romp Victoria!

In BBC1’s gripping Line Of Duty he plays slick-suited detective Steve Arnott, but Martin Compston's latest role will show a whole new side of the 33-year-old Scottish actor.

Ditching his London accent (and hopefully speaking with his real accent, something we're VERY excited about!), Martin's just been signed up to guest star as Dr Robert Traill - a Scot who helped raise awareness about the horrors of the Irish potato famine - in ITV's Victoria.

Filming is already underway on series two of Victoria, with Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes back in the saddle as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

The second run - which will be back on our screens in the autumn - picks up six weeks after the first series ended, and sees Queenie facing the new challenge of motherhood.

According to sources, Queen Vic will face 'working mother struggles' - although we're pretty sure she had a bit more home-help than the rest of us do!

When will season two of Victoria be on TV?

Sadly ITV are yet to confirm the exact date, but they've told us Victoria will be back in the autumn. Bring. It. On.
