Katie Piper missed her daughter Belle's birthday for the second year in a row
Model, motivational speaker and all-round inspiration Katie Piper has had a rough couple of days.
She was busy preparing for her daughter Belle's third birthday when she was struck down by an eye infection, resulting in a day in hospital.
Unfortunately, the day she spent in hospital was her daughter's actual birthday, meaning she missed it for the second year in a row.
The timing literally couldn't have been worse!
Poor Katie, 33, was diagnosed with preseptal cellulitis, an inflammation and infection of the eyelid and parts of skin surrounding the eye.
She began by posting a video of the inflamed area, saying: "I've just got in from work - I wanted to make a video to show you. This is sometimes what happens when you've got injuries from the past around your eyes.
"Today, I've come out with a really bad eye infection. I have a lot of antiobiotic creams, my own little supply that I keep at home, so I'm going to treat it with some cream and drops."

She then asked viewers to recommend remedies for eye infections, and what they normally use. Of course, she was flooded with comments recommending things from brolene to eye drops to steroids.
It must be lovely to have such a wealth of support from so many people!
However, things didn't get better, as a day later - Belle's birthday - she uploaded a shot of her in hospital with a drip in her arm.
She captioned it: "Thank you for all your messages - I'm in hospital with preseptal cellulitis infection, having treatment and hoping to go home tomorrow sometime fingers crossed - think I'm jinx on this day second time I've been in hospital for Belles birthday!"
Before she went into hospital, she uploaded an adorable video of herself with daughter Belle, who was saying: "Oh my goodness!" - presumably about her poor mum!

Thankfully, Katie and husband Richard Sutton had a birthday party for Belle at the weekend.
The Peter Pan-themed bash saw Katie dress up as Tinkerbell and Richard as Captain Hook, with little Belle opting for the main character Peter.
