Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead Tinker, has announced she’s leaving Coronation Street – making her the sixth departure this year
Coronation Street bosses are in turmoil as they deal with the loss of six major characters already in 2019, with Faye Brooks (who plays Kate Connor) announcing she was quitting just days ago.
Also making their exit are Tristan Gemmill, who plays Robert Preston, Kym Marsh, who plays his wife Michelle Connor, Connie Hyde, who plays Gina Sneddon and of course Bhavna Limbachia, who’s character Rana Habeeb was tragically killedin the factory roof collapse just hours before her wedding to Kate.
Katie’s character Sinead has just given birth to her first child and been given the all clear from her cancer battle, and sources say she’s instrumental to a lot of upcoming storylines this year.

In the moment, Paula invites Sophie along to a pony trekking holiday she's going on in Spain. When Sophie agrees and brings Paula over to the house, Sally is thrilled to see they're back together.

And it seems like Tim is finally getting on board with Sally's healthy lifestyle regimen, as he proudly shows off his new gym gear and suggests they go for a power walk together.

“Katie has just been nominated for a British Soap Award so it’s a big loss and not what bosses would have wanted to hear,” a source told The Sun.
“She’s been central to a number of key storylines this last year or so and will need replacing urgently.”

They went on to explain that team morale is at an all-time low and many cast members are jumping ship because of the atmosphere on set.
“No one has been particularly happy since former show boss Kate Oates left,” they said.
“There are lots of scheduling issues and the workload has become very difficult to manage with six episodes a week.
“There are now lots of unhappy people who are jumping ship but many of them are ‘putting a spin on it’ publicly because they don’t want to upset their mates left trying to save the show.
“It’s not a great time to work on the show."
