WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
Next week, fans of the Channel 4 soap will watch in horror as a vintage party train - with all the McQueen’s on board - is derailed by an accident caused by Patrick Blake (Jeremy Sheffield), leaving at least one main character dead.
But things are only going to get darker - because there's a serial killer on the loose.
EASTENDERS: LUCY BEALE'S KILLER WILL BE REVEALED LIVE ON TELLY
That's right; any survivors from End of the Line shouldn’t start counting their chickens’ just yet, as another favourite character is set to die in the New Year when a twisted murderer begins working their way through the local hospital.
Armed with only a hypodermic needle, the anonymous killer (we will only see their gloves) decides to administer a lethal injection to a patient.
And, as the plot develops, it soon becomes clear that this 'Angel of Death' has prolonged access to hospital patients - and that they truly believe they have a right to decide who should live or die.
According to Digital Spy, this storyline will take several twists and turns with several other characters finding themselves in real danger, leaving fans wondering just how many times the killer will strike.
And the whodunnit murder plot is set to be one of the longest-running plots in Hollyoaks history - clearly they've been taking tips from the current EastEnders Lucy beale murder mystery!
Hollyoaks can be seen weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 / Channel 4 HD
