Lucy Beale's killer will be unmasked live on air during a special week of EastEnders episodes to mark the soap's 30th anniversary.

HOW WILL JACQUELINE JOSSA'S PREGNANCY AFFECT EASTENDERS' LAUREN BRANNING?

This means that show bosses can keep the murderer's identity a secret from cast and crew until the last minute before they are unmasked in February, creating the ultimate "doof doof" moment.

The anniversary of the BBC soap will include one 30-minute live episode and "live elements" in the other episodes.

EastEnders producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for ‘EastEnders’ to create a massive national event & one that will enable us celebrate 30 years in spectacular style.

"With live elements to each episode, as well as a half-hour live episode, it allows us to have a huge amount of surprises for the audience.”

Dominic ended by saying: “It is ambitious & exciting & something that I know everyone at ‘EastEnders’ will excel at, as they always do.”

With so many possible killers out there (people have been speculating about the likes of Jay Brown, Max Branning, Ben Mitchell, Ian Beale, Jay Carter, Whitney Dean and "the creepy funeral director"), we imagine plenty will be tuning in to see who really did the dark deed.

The live week starts on Monday February 16th 2015. Will you be watching?
