Hollyoaks's latest episode on E4 revealed a missing character had a worse fate than the viewers expected.
Viewers saw Ziggy Roscoe (Fabrizio Santino) killed by Cameron Campbell (Cameron Moore) in 2015’s Christmas episodes, and soon after Lockie (Nick Rhys) - Cameron’s brother - found out who caused the shock gas explosion at Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter)’s flat.
So, of course, Cameron KIDNAPPED his brother in a desperate attempt to keep him quiet, and locked Lockie up with barely any food or water.
However, things turned dark after Lockie refused to go quietly and Cameron furiously chased after him in his car – leaving fans wondering what Lockie’s fate would be.
Until last night - when all was revealed!
Recently, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) started to worry about Lockie’s whereabouts and suspected there was more to him than just leaving the village.
When visiting the shack where Lockie was held, Ste found an engraving on the floor, which read: “Cameron is a killer”.
After confronting his brother-in-law Cameron about what he found, Ste learnt that Cameron offered Lockie a lift out of the village.
And in the most recent episode, Ste heard Cameron talking about his missing brother in past tense.
The pair were then seen fighting on the lake in a shock showdown, where Ste ended up in the water.
Later in the episode however, viewers were finally shown what happened to poor Lockie in a flashback.
The shocking scenes showed Cameron dumping a body into the lake, and that poor soul was his brother Lockie.
And fans were certainly upset about the character’s departure.
Speaking about his character’s death, Nick told Digital Spy: "It's been a great honour and pleasure to help create and play Lockie on Hollyoaks.
"He was a complicated character and seemed to have the ability to get himself both into, and out of trouble, with equal ease. It was fun trying to find that balance."
He continued: "I think Lockie's relationship with his brother Cameron was a great part of my enjoyment on the show. I'm lucky to have such a great actor to work with in Cameron Moore, and even luckier to have him as a friend. I'll miss him.”
But what actually happened between the siblings that led to Lockie’s death?
And will ANYONE ever discover the truth?
