A teenager is set to be killed in an upcoming EastEnders storyline

In scenes due to air very soon EastEnders fans will see one of the teens in Walford murdered - Shakil Kazemi.

Earlier this year EastEnders bosses confirmed they're working with one of their former actress, Brooke Kinsella MBE, on a powerful knife crime storyline.

Back in 2008 Brooke's brother Ben was fatally stabbed and since then she's started the Ben Kinsella Trust which tackles knife crime through campaigning and education.

After it was confirmed that the 34-year-old star will be working alongside the BBC One show, she's revealed why it's important to tackle the storyline. She explained: "I commend the EastEnders team for choosing this storyline to portray the realities of knife crime.

"With knife crime on the increase it is vitally important that we help people understand its lasting impact."
