EastEnders spoilers: The Lucy Beale murder plot takes a shocking twist

New developments in the Lucy Beale murder plot are set to leave one EastEnders character absolutely furious

The Lucy Beale murder plot isn't set to be resolved until next year but, in the next few weeks of EastEnders, there are set to be some 'major developments' in the case.

And they are set to leave her bereaved father Ian Beale furious.

In upcoming scenes, viewers will see Ian and girlfriend Denise sit down with police officers.

They are then told that Jake Stone, who was arrested after being spotted with Lucy on the night she died, has been released from prison on bail.

Well, it's all down to a shocking new statement from Lee Carter, who is also set to drunkenly reveal that he did 'something stupid' on that now infamous Good Friday.

With the police not keen to tell Ian the full truth about Lee's confession, the desperate dad is set to confront the soldier's father, Mick (Danny Dyer), whom Ian has been teaching to swim.

And it goes without saying that Ian is left absolutely furious when he hears what Mick has to say.

However, while Jake is free for now, it is unsure how long this state of affairs is set to to remain, as actor Jamie Lomas is set to leave the hit soap this summer.

EastEnders will air these scenes on 17th and 18th July.
