WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

On Monday 6th October, horrified EastEnders fans will watch as Dean (Matt Di Angelo) is left alone with Linda (Kellie Bright), shortly after an Albert Square resident is injured in a shock shooting.

Linda is left to console Dean - but the Walford hairdresser mistakes her maternal instincts for something more, coldly attacking and raping her while the rest of her family are downstairs in the Queen Vic.

Shortly after the harrowing attack, Linda will discover that she is pregnant - just weeks after expressing her desire to have another child with 'husband' Mick (Danny Dyer).

But whose baby is she expecting?

The ordeal is set to tear the Carter family apart as Linda struggles to deal with her ordeal and decides against opening up to Mick over fear of what he will do.

Speaking at an exclusive EastEnders screening this week, Kellie told The Metro: "I think there are many stages to Linda’s post-rape self and initially there is shock which then leads into questioning herself about what has happened and why it’s happened.

"She feels a huge sense of guilt and consequently realises that Dean sees it in a very different way so she is worried that she’s not going to be believed."

JACQUELINE JOSSA TEASES EASTENDERS PLOT SPOILERS

She added: "It’s going to have massive repercussions for Mick and Linda. Obviously it affects their physical relationship too.

"I also think she’s scared of what will happen if she tells Mick and what he will to do Dean. I think she feels part of her is broken and she doesn’t want to break him.

"It’s partly because she loves Mick so much that she doesn’t tell him because she doesn’t want to spoil what they have but if she tells him then it’s gone. There are many layers.

"I think one of the most heartbreaking things with this storyline is what it does to Mick as he doesn’t know what is wrong with Linda.

"The worst thing for me is that it’s turned her into a person that she never was – a liar – and someone that is shut down in a certain way.

"This is EastEnders at it’s best and I do feel that. It’s going to be really good telly."
