WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

EastEnders' Kat and Alfie are firm favourites with fans of the soap - so we imagine viewers will be gripped when Mrs Moon goes into early labour.

Kat's day begins with a heavy dose of stress as she goes to visit Stacey Slater's mum Jean, only to find the creator of the Sausage Surprise has collapsed in her kitchen.

Kat, being the kind-natured soul she is, makes sure Jean is taken to hospital and looked after - only to go into labour herself, weeks before her due date.

At least she's in the right place at the right time, eh?

Sneak-peek pictures from the episode show a concerned Alfie, who's been doing everything in his power to financially prepare for the coming of his twin babies, clutching Kat's hand protectively.

But, with his forehead furrowed in concern, we can't help but wonder if things might not be going as well as planned…

The birth scenes are due to air on BBC1 on the 7th and 8th of August.
