EastEnders fans have been speculating about the true identity of Lee Ryan's character Woody Woodward

Fans of EastEnders reckon they've worked out the real reason why Woody Wooward (Lee Ryan) has arrived in Walford and taken over the job as bar manager at the Queen Vic. Woody arrived last week, having been hired by Linda to keep the pub ticking over while her and Mick are away from the Square. But fans have questioned his sudden appearance, and are more than a little suspicious of Woody and his intentions...

So what is this theory? Well, fans seem to think that Woody is working with Max Branning in order to take over the pub and bring Walford to its knees.

Remember that Max has turned in Mad Max and is on a major revenge mission after being wrongfully sent to prison for Lucy Beale's murder about a zillion years ago?

The actual killer was, of course, evil little Bobby Beale. But that didn't stop Ian, Phil and Jane landing Max in the slammer for alomst a year.

Since returning to the Square late last year, Max has been lining up his ducks, getting everything in place for his Big Revenge Plan.

After seeing Woody convince Shirley that selling the freehols to the pub to Max earlier this week, fans are now convinced that Woody is in on it too.

They took to Twitter to speculate that Woody and Max were in it together.

Hmmm....the revenge plot thickens...
