At last!
It was smiles all round in EastEnders tonight (19 Dec) as little Ollie Carter granted his mum's Christmas wish when he took his first steps unaided.
Walford's favourite ever couple, Mick and Linda Carter (Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright), have been extremely worried about their youngest son's progress since the devastating accident that gave him long-lasting brain damage.
At the beginning of this year, EastEnders viewers watched as the soap couple rushed their baby Ollie to hospital, where it was revealed that he had suffered a bleed on the brain after being accidentally knocked from his highchair by Lee (Danny-boy Hatchard) and Nancy (Maddy Hill).
And after a flood of doctors appointments and a gruelling wait to see if Ollie developmental delays would improve as the year went by, Linda and Mick were desperate for Ollie to take his first steps before Christmas.
Linda was overcome with emotion as Mick followed little Ollie as he walked up to his mum in the festive Walford grotto and the couple bawled as the episode came to a close.
Finally some good news for the family!
However, the happy atmosphere isn't set to last very long as Linda is set to recieve some devasating news over Christmas - leading to a dramatic exit from the square.
Viewers already know that actress Kellie Bright will be taking a six-month break from EastEnders to have a baaaaaby very, very soon.
Kellie Bright has already assured fans that she’ll 10000% be back but has yet to divulge the plot surrounding her exit storyline.
Will Mick and Linda take a break from each other and will Linda leave with Ollie?](https://closeronline.co.uk/entertainment/soaps/will-kellie-bright-leave-eastenders/)
Will Ollie's Christmas miracle be shortlived?
**EastEnders continues Tuesday (20 Dec) at 7.30pm. **
