EastEnders delivered an almighty shocker tonight as burglars descended on the Vic demanding money, attacking Johnny and threatening to kidnap and hurt baby Ollie.
Three masked inturduers stormed the pub after a successful night that celebrated Linda's darts team win, straight up demanding money, trying to steal Linda's precious necklace and threatening to throw baby Ollie down the stairs.
Luckily, Ollie remained unharmed but the alpha-male of the family, Mick Carter was left swearing vengence on the trio would would dare do this to his family.
However, one person who didn't act upon instinct was Lee Carter, who has recently spiralled back into the depths of depression, leaving viewers to question whether he was involved in the whole debacle.
Tonight's episode saw him actively trying to get both himself and Whitney away from the Vic in the run-up to the attack, he even referred to the gang leader as 'mate'. Does Lee know the trio of masked intruders? Is everything interlinked? And does workplace bully Oz have anything to do with the whole thing? A recent fan theory suggests that Lee could explode and KILL his workplace foe. Is this the start of another HUGE EastEnders storyline?
The name Osman 'Oz' Bolat and the actor who plays him, Noah Maxwell-Clarke, even appeared during the credits of Friday night's episode.
Hmmmmm.
EastEnders are handling Lee Carter's depression storyline with grace and dignity at the moment, by slowing building things up and showing viewers how Lee is solely consumed by his feelings.
Instead of going full throttle, the soap are focusing on the everyday niggles that act as catalysts for a slow and scary downward spiral including symptoms such as loss of sex drive and flying off the handle at the smallest things...
Are things about to be taken up a notch? And how will the Carters cope now this has happened? Will this be the catalystthat makes Mick and Linda leave the square? We all know Kellie Bright will be leaving our screens soon to go on maternity leave...
