According to reports EastEnders star Lee Ryan has been rushed to hospital with quincy - a serious illness related to tonsillitis. It comes 20 months after doctors found a lump in Lee's throat that was removed due to worries of it being cancerous. According to an insider, Lee will be in hospital for about a week. Get well soon, Lee.
The source told The Sun: "Lee is in a really bad place at the moment and he is in a lot of pain.
“He has been unable to talk, swallow or eat so doctors decided to drain his throat to try and alleviate the pain.
"It is extremely scary for Lee as his throat is a very sensitive place after his recent cancer scare."
The insider added: "He relies on his voice for his singing and acting so anything to do with his throat is a total nightmare."
The illness comes shortly after news that Lee has split with his new girlfriend, model Jamie-Lee Faulkner, after only a few months together.
The source continued: "The fact he’s split up with Jaime-Lee has only compounded his misery."
Lee, who was recently confirmed to be returning to his role as Woody in EastEnders, is believed to have been rushed to hospital last week.
We hope he's back on his feet soon and can't wait to see him return to Walford, ready to cause some trouble!
