This week EastEnders viewers saw Chantelle Atkins stand up to her abusive husband Gray but fans are convinced that BBC bosses are lining up a murder for the Christmas Day episode.
For months Gray has been violently abusing his wife and although he stopped when he discovered she was pregnant, he secretly turned his anger towards random people at E20.

The week begins with Linda feeling very hungover but still deciding to drop Ollie to school so Mick can go to his doctor's appointment.When they arrive outside the school gates, Linda accidentally backs into another car but decides to drive off – thinking no one saw.

Unfortunately for her someone did see and later on she spots Mieko and Shelley waiting with two police officers. Linda attempts to defend herself but when the officers ask her to do a breathalyser test she's left humiliated. It's not long before she's arrested.

While all this drama is happening, Mick is in The Vic preparing for the wife swap competition. However following a conversation with Max Branning, it soon dawns on Mick that his wife's drinking is getting out of control.

Over to Kat Moon and she's excited about swapping home and pairing up with Patrick Trueman, while Kush is apprehensive about living with Sheree.

Kat tells Kush she's found it difficult living with Patrick and that they should opt out of the wife swap competition. Sheree opens up to Kush about her rocky relationship with Denise but when he offers advice on how to handle her, Sheree hatches a plan.
After Chantelle suffered a miscarriage she kept it a secret from her husband but her mum Karen Taylor accidentally let slip to her son-in-law. More recently Chantelle told Gray that "until you sort yourself out, there is no way we're having another baby," before heading on a night out with Whitney Dean.
Gray was then seen glaring at his wife from behind the blinds in his house and fans took to Twitter to predict what's next for the couple.
One person tweeted, "Hear it here first - Christmas story line - Phil finds out its Keanue’s baby and Grey Kills Chantelle #EastEnders".
Another said, "Gray and Chantelle are going to be a Lil Mo and Trevor all over again unless Gray kills Chantelle before she finally hits back. #EastEnders".
Someone else commented, "I was also glad with Chantelle being so assertive to Gray after their visit to the therapist, but he was giving her a killer look through the blinds :-( #EastEnders".
A fourth wrote, "Chantelle standing up for herself was amazing to see. She wasn't scared anymore just fed up. What a 👑. I just hope this doesn't end in tragedy 😔 #Eastenders".
In the past viewers have seen a handful of domestic abuse storylines in Walford; Little Mo and Trevor Morgan, Archie and Peggy Mitchell and Yusef Khan and Zainab Masood.
However EastEnders boss Kate Oates has teased that Chantelle and Gray's storyline will have a different outcome to the horrific ordeal Little Mo went through.
"The characters are so different. And where the stories goes is very different and we know where it's going to go and it's challenging, but important," she told The Sun.

EastEnders viewers are well aware of the awkward love triangle involving Louise Mitchell, Sharon Mitchell and Keanu Taylor and how both women (despite being step mum and step daughter) have the same baby daddy.
Although Mel Owen discovered the truth and was brutally killed by a lorry and Lisa Fowler knows Sharon had an affair but is unaware it's Keanu's child; it's been revealed that the explosive storyline will come to an end this Christmas.
Elsewhere Danny Dyer has teased that a lot of characters will be involved in the Christmas Day episode.
"It’s brilliant this year. Every year is brilliant but this year, it’s a culmination of many storylines coming together," he said on The One show.
