It’s been a tough old year for poor Jay Brown.

He’s now on the sex offenders list after dating Linzi, who turned out to only be 14-years-old, and more frustratingly for Jay, the pair never actually had sex.

This caused Jay to be exiled from the Mitchell clan, after Phil didn’t want an offender to be associated with his family, and therefore lost his job at The Arches.

Since being sacked, Jay has had a tough time trying to find another job because of his record.

And things could about to become much worse for the character.

EastEnders fans: Did you notice this big filming mistake?!

Fans of the BBC soap will remember Roxy returned to the Square recently with a lot of moneys worth of drugs.

However, Billy discovered Jay had kept the stash of drugs, despite him saying they had flushed it down the toilet.

Although for now it seems Jay has just been selling the drugs to make money, he could soon be tempted to taking them himself.

We recently saw Billy try to reach out to Jay, telling him about his own past, however it seems he couldn’t get through to the boy he once took in as his own.

EastEnders: Who is Grant Mitchell and where has he been?

With Billy telling him he is no longer welcome at home, Jay is quickly losing the only people that still believe in him.

Could this turn Jay to drugs as he tries to seek comfort in something he feels could take away his pain?

We will have to wait and see if Jay continues down this path, or whether he can reach out and find help before it’s too late.

EastEnders continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
