About two per cent of characters manage to be happy for more than a year and Ben Hardy has admitted he’s worried for Peter Beale’s future.

Peter is currently involved in the storyline of twin sister Lucy’s murder, and Ben, 23, knows that nobody on the show is safe.
He told the Daily Star: “It crosses my mind they might bump me off. You’re always aware it could happen.
“People are constantly coming in and leaving. There’s a quick turnover in soap, so you know at any moment you could lose your job.
“I don’t want it to happen, I’d like to stay. EastEnders is a great place to work. But it’s also regular work. In this industry only eight per cent of actors are in work – you have to be thankful.”
PICTURE: MEET THE NEW BEN MITCHELL - BUT DID HE KILL LUCY BEALE?
As the Lucy Beale murder plot thickens, viewers recently saw Billy Mitchell enter the frame for her death, but he was quick to try and shift the blame on Peter.
While he’s not ready to leave Walford just yet, Ben said he’s happy to be at the centre of such a grisly storyline.
He continued: “It’s good to be at the centre of a big storyline. Before now I’d kind of been on the outskirts. It can be frustrating not being involved as much.
“You have to take it on the chin. Everyone gets their turn, that’s just the way it is. I don’t think Peter has got enough motive to kill his twin. But if they decided to go that way I’d be more than happy to play it.”
In happier news, Ben was recently voted No31 in Attitude Magazine’s Hot100 list.

“I get lots of compliments from gay men on Twitter. It’s all good banter, so I quite enjoy it,” he added.
