We only found out the other day that Mary Poppins apparently worked for The Ministry of Magic but now we've found out that there's going to be a Mary Poppins 2!
It’s been over 50 years since the classic 1964 film was released which starred one of our favourite actresses Julie Andrews, and now Walt Disney Pictures have revealed that Emily Blunt - who we just LOVE - has been cast as the magical nanny.
Lin-Manuel Miranda also known as the creator and star of the Broadway show Hamilton, will also feature in the film as Emily’s lamplighter friend.
And the second installment will be titled Mary Poppins Returns and will be directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Marc Platt and John DeLuca.
A Disney spokesman said the new film will be about Poppins visiting the now “grown up” Jane and Michael and his three children following a personal loss during Depression-era London.
He added: "Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives”.
We can’t wait to see this.
Disney also announced that the sequel will be in cinema on December 25 2018. We already know what Christmas present we’ll be asking…
