Disney has revealed that Walt Disney Studios and Jon Favreau (the director of The Jungle Book) are creating a "new reimagining" movie of the infamous The Lion King.
We are SO excited!
The film will include songs from the original film so we're hoping Hakuna Matata and The Circle of Life are included.
This isn't the first Disney remake, they've previously created Maleficent, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book and in 2017 Beauty and the Beast will be released which stars Harry Potter's Emma Watson.
When the Lion King was released in 1994 it grossed $968.8 million and it has been announced that The Jungle Book director Jon Farvreau will be directing the movie so we know it'll be good.
At the moment there's no release date for the movie. However, Disney have announced that a sequel for The Jungle Book is in development.

Disney fans took to Twitter to express their feelings on the remake. Some people liked the idea:
"THEY'RE MAKING A LIVE REMAKE OF THE LION KING?? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! #TheLionKing"
"Whatever is going on with The Lion King remake, so long as Jon Favreau is directing, I'm in"
Some Twitter fans didn't seem too keen on the remake:
"Not too sure about #TheLionKing movie project. The Lion King is just the one thing which shouldn't be touched. It's perfect as it is."
"Disney please don't remake the Lion King. You will ruin my childhood. CGI will make it look so weird. Leave Mufasa alone man he's had enough"
"The Lion King is getting a remake. Someone obviously hasn't heard the saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'."
Other's pitched their ideas for the movie:
"I saw something about a Live Action remake of The Lion King, I'd actually rather they do the sequel just for the final fight scene!"
"Disney green-lit a live-action remake of The Lion King. But this time, instead of Scar, Mufasa will be killed by Trump's sons."
"Sure it's nice to be excited about The Lion King live action movie news but then we will go to see it and get to that scene and remember…"
