WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) is set to swap the cobbles of Weatherfield for fish 'n' chips by the sea after being released from prison.

Following the revelation that Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) was the real killer of Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan), Peter will be a free man once again - and his first port of call is to visit wife Carla (Alison King).

CORRIE NEWS: SARAH-LOUISE PLATT RETURNING TO WEATHERFIELD

In the episode set to air on Monday 10 November, the recovering alcoholic will be seen begging Carla to give their marriage another try, dropping down to his knees and emotionally begging his wife to take him back following news he had been having an affair with the late Tina.

But it's too little, too late; Peter is left heartbroken when Michelle (Kym Marsh) later calls at No 1 and hands Peter an envelope containing Carla’s wedding ring.

It's enough to make him question his future in Weatherfield and, by Friday, Peter has made arrangements to move to Portsmouth.

CORONATION STREET'S PAULA LANE REVEALS SHE IS PREGNANT WITH HER FIRST CHILD

After arranging for Owen to rent out the bookie's flat - and for any rent to be paid to Leanne for Simon’s maintenance - Peter breaks the news to Simon that he’s moving to Portsmouth.

Unsurprisingly the little boy is devastated, blaming himself for not believing in his own dad’s innocence and begging Peter not to leave.
