Coronation Street star Paula Lane has announced that she and husband Tom Shaw, her childhood sweetheart, are expecting their first baby together.
The 28-year-old actress, beloved by fans as Kylie Platt in the soap, broke the news via Twitter.
She wrote: @SirTomShaw and I are thrilled to announce we have a Christmas pud in the over! SURPRISE!’
Unsurprisingly the popular Corrie star was flooded with congratulatory messages, so she made sure to thank her followers for their kind wishes.
Paula's happy news comes less than a fortnight after she married Tom in front of guests including Corrie castmates Jane Danson, Helen Worth and Jack P. Shepherd - who plays screen husband David.
Speaking before the wedding with the Daily Star, she revealed that she'd always known Tom was 'The One' for her.
"We've been together for years. He's definitely the one, there's no doubt in my mind. It's taking him a little longer to figure it all out. But we're very happy."
