The Bistro boss will be seen battling cancer in an emotional new storyline
Michelle is delighted to welcome her man Robert back to the cobbles next week following his recent stint at her Maj’s pleasure.
And she’s even more delighted when Rob, who’s undergone a hair-colour transformation from dark brown to silver-fox whilst in prison, presents her with a contract that makes her an equal partner in The Bistro! RESULT!
However as the loved-up pair celebrate and pick up where they left off, (they can’t WAIT to hop into bed), her joy is short-lived when she later notices her other half wince in pain when he goes to sit down.
Robert, who was behind bars for attacking that drug-dealing slimeball Rich Hollis, immediately plays down the pain but it’s clear that something is troubling him.
Later on, and keen to up his fitness regime, he agrees to a race with Daniel and proudly shows Michelle the training plan he’s drawn up, however when it's obvious he's in pain again, Michelle can’t hide her concern.
Robert brushes off her fears, but his worried partner insists he should go to the doctor.
It soon becomes clear all is far from well when he later lies to Michelle and tells her that the doctor confirmed it’s nothing more serious than a groin strain and that he’ll be perfectly fine in a couple of weeks.
Hmmm. Sure about that Mr? It has already been reported that Robert, played by former Casualty actor Tristan Gemmill, is to be diagnosed with testicular cancer.
A Corrie insider recently told The Sun, “This is going to be a big storyline for Robert which is likely to have Coronation Street fans hooked for weeks.
“It will really test his relationship with Michelle as she tries to offer him support in his darkest hour.
“But the big question is whether he’s willing to accept her help and save himself.”
Sadly, right now an oblivious Michelle is none-the-wiser.
How long will it be before she discovers the truth? And will Robert be strong enough to face up to condition?
