In a deadly week of showdowns, who is going to be Phelan's next victim? And will there be more than one? Eeek
Next week is a huge week for ruthless rogue Phelan when he’s forced to take action that could see one or more people die!
Having promised his prisoner Andy his freedom, the unscrupulous builder needs to find a replacement and who better than Vinny, Phelan’s former partner in crime turned bitter enemy.
Connor McIntyre who plays him says, “If Phelan could get Andy out without any risk to himself, he would. But he can’t trust Andy so he has to decide what to do.”
Phelan has been hungry for revenge on his business partner ever since Vinny stitched him up on the Calcutta Flats scam and scarpered abroad with the ill-gotten loot.
Next week sees Vinny back in Weatherfield and a simmering Phelan is ready and waiting for him. When Vinny goes to visit his mum, Mrs McArdle who is being cared for in a nursing home, Phelan is lurking in the wings.
Crooked Vinny is alarmed to see Phelan but as the two men go head to head who is going to come off worse?
We already know that Phelan is in possession of a gun and it looks like he’s not afraid to use it. YIKES!
Elsewhere, when Faye’s window cleaner boyfriend Seb falls from a ladder and smashes onto the cobbles a venegeful Phelan sees the perfect opportunity to frame his foe Anna for attempted murder by planting some incriminating evidence that will lead the police to Anna’s door.
However Seb’s horror fall inadvertently brings Anna and Phelan’s daughter together. As the pair chat Nicola is horrified when café-worker Anna reveals Phelan once raped her and that’s not all….
When Nicola starts digging further into her father’s murky past she ends up speaking to Lydia, her mum’s former neighbour and is deeply unsettled to discover more ugly truths about the man she recently discovered was her dad.
When an appalled Nicola sets off to confront Phelan it’s all too much for the villain and realising that the net is closing in on him, he snaps and comes to a deadly decision.
“Phelan has just found Nicola. She has had this really calming influence on him and he might lose her, which makes him very volatile”, explains Connor. “The pressure is mounting and that is when he’s at his most dangerous.”
With Phelan under pressure to not only free Andy, but with Nicola now aware of his violent past and Vinny back on the cobbles, the scene is set for a huge and dramatic show-down.
