Fans of Coronation Street watched with baited breath as street veteran Ken Barlow was hospitalised following a stroke last October.
It was touch and go for a couple of episodes - but it was all ok, because we knew deep down that Corrie wouldn't really get rid of Ken bloody Barlow... would they?
After a whopping 56 years on the soap, William Roache, who plays Ken, now holds the Guinness World Record for being the longest-serving living television actor in a continuous role.
Ken appeared in Corrie's first ever episode, which aired on December 9 1960. His only break was in June 2013 for about a year when Roache was the subject of a police investigation and was found to be not guilty.
HOWEVER it looks like Kens days could be finally numbered.
Next week we see will Ken putting in a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) request - meaning that if he has another stroke, the hospital are not allowed to revive him.
Are Corrie trying to prepare us for the worst? And if so, what would the street be like without Ken Barlow? What would the WORLD be like without Ken Barlow?!
Apparently, the news of Ken's DNR request doesn't go down well with his son Daniel and grandson Adam. Like us - they're obviously not ready for Ken to shuffle off his mortal coil quite yet.
But it's not up to them, and it's certainly not up to us.
So, after over 50 years on the cobbles, is this Ken's way of telling us that he'll be leaving soon? We hope not!
Do you think this means that Ken will be leaving soon? Let us know over on Facebook and Twitter.
